Dr. Whitney Norris is a post-doctoral fellow in the College of Nursing at UAMS. She graduated in May of 2024 with her Ph.D. in Clinical and Translational Sciences after working over a decade as a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing the treatment of trauma. Whitney's research interests center around improving mental health outcomes of individuals who have experienced barriers to optimal mental health and wellbeing through experiences of trauma and other disparity-promoting risk factors.

Jessica is a PhD student in the College of Nursing at Penn State University. She joined the lab in 2021 while completing her doctoral work examining communication with and caregiving for adults on the autism spectrum.

Jacke Humphrey-Straub (she/her) is a white, able-bodied, working class, queer, non-binary femme. She is a PhD candidate at UC Davis Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing with a designated emphasis in Feminist Theory & Research. Her dissertation is a rapid ethnographic study taking place in primary care clinics in the U.S. using mixed methods of observations, surveys, and interviews to examine providers’ attitudes and beliefs toward prescribing gender-affirming hormone therapy. Her research interests seek to create access to gender-affirming care in primary care settings across the U.S. She received her master’s degree in social work in 2012 and bachelor’s degree in social work in 2009 from CSU, Chico. She is adjunct faculty at CSU, Sacramento School of Social Work. Jacke identifies as an abolitionist social worker and has a strong devotion to racial justice and Black liberation. On her spare time, you can find Jacke reading a novel, going on bike rides with her partner, or taking her kids to the Farmer’s Market on the weekends.

Lakyn Webb is a second-year PhD student in the College of Nursing at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). Originally from Oklahoma, she earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Oklahoma State University before moving to Arkansas, where she completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at UAMS. She now serves as the Director of Research at the UAMS 12th Street Health & Wellness Center, is a member of the UAMS College of Nursing Advisory Board, and works as an emergency room nurse at the Veterans Health Administration. Lakyn joined Dr. Anderson’s lab in 2023. Her interests focus on the psychological impacts of occupational exposures to bloodborne pathogens among healthcare workers.
